What are the key points to consider regarding the construction quality of gabion mesh?

1. Excavation of the foundation pit. The construction unit must verify the relevant data, information, and geometric dimensions in the construction drawings according to the design documents; the construction unit should designate a specific person to be responsible for the surveying work and provide the necessary surveying data in a timely manner.


2. Layout and positioning. Confirm the position of the gabion cages according to the coordinates of the positioning points on the plan, and pull lines at the control points to confirm the planar position of the gabion cages. During construction, borrowed or set construction control marks and elevation points must be strictly protected and regularly inspected and corrected.


3. Binding of empty cages. The spacer mesh of the gabion cages should intersect the mesh body at 90° before binding. Each binding of the combined wire must be double-stranded and tightly twisted, and the binding spacing must meet the design requirements. All corners of the gabion cages, adjacent edge wires, and junctions of edge wires and the mesh surface must be double-stranded at intervals of 625px.


4. Placement of empty cages. 5. Connect and bind other gabion units. Place the gabions in position according to the design requirements and the layout line. Double-strand bind each gabion to its adjacent units (top, bottom, left, and right), binding the edge wires together and to the adjacent mesh panels. Bind two points per square meter at the mesh panel interface of adjacent gabion units.


6. Thoroughly check that the empty gabions are aligned with the layout control line and that the gabion elevation meets the design requirements. Proceed to the next step only after confirming there are no issues.


7. Bind wooden sticks (steel pipes, bamboo poles, or templates) to the exposed surfaces to ensure a flat surface. Remove these after sealing.


8. Fill with stones. The particle size of the stones filling the gabions must meet the design requirements; the exposed layer of stones must be manually laid, ensuring flatness and a good appearance; horizontal fixing wires must be installed on the exposed side of the gabion, installed after each layer of stones has reached a height of 625px and been leveled, with the fixing wires arranged in a "V" shape; materials must be added sequentially, evenly, and layer by layer to each cell within the same layer, and it is strictly forbidden to fill a single cell at once. For 1250px high gabions, materials are added in two layers; after each layer of gabions is filled, the top of the gabion must be leveled with fine gravel before sealing.


8. After each layer of gabions is sealed, the elevation must be checked to ensure it meets the design requirements before proceeding with the construction of the top layer.
