Uses of fiberglass mesh

Aug. 06, 2025

Fiberglass mesh is made of fiberglass, fiberglass cloth is made of fiberglass mesh, and fiberglass reinforced plastic cloth is also made of fiberglass. While they are all made of fiberglass, each product has different uses, and none can replace the other. Mesh is differentiated by mesh size. Regardless of size, mesh is generally used for wall crack prevention and insulation. Fiberglass cloth is primarily used for insulation boards and pipe wrapping.

The standard adhesive fiberglass mesh from fiber mesh manufacturers is generally referred to as self-adhesive mesh. Our factory no longer manufactures this type of product. However, its price is significantly higher than that of standard wall mesh because it is made of gold-coated yarn and the glue is applied twice.

Mesh is a fiberglass product. Simply put, it's glass yarn made by drawing glass balls through platinum, then processed into mesh. Mesh requires surface treatment, impregnating it with an alkali-resistant emulsion to make it more durable and less irritating during installation. However, some factories, driven by profit, coat the mesh with a latex like urine-based glue or even less emulsion. This significantly reduces the quality of the mesh and makes it feel extremely poor, causing itching upon contact.

Mesh is primarily used for interior and exterior wall insulation. It's late autumn now, and the cold weather makes installation difficult. Mesh wall insulation work is also suspended, so mesh factories are currently experiencing peak season. To serve areas in southern China where construction is still ongoing, we keep mesh stock in stock for immediate use. Mesh cloth is currently the most common material used in other insulation boards. Mesh cloth is typically over one meter wide to accommodate customer insulation board manufacturing needs.

Mesh cloth is a fiberglass product typically used in wall construction. It generally has high tensile strength and can also be used to prevent cracks in walls. New homes often experience cracks and breakage within a few days of living in them, especially in corners and seams. The mesh size of today's mesh cloth addresses this persistent problem, nipping it in the bud. Fiberglass mesh is now used in most buildings and is gradually infiltrating new rural construction.
