1. The product construction cost is low. Compared with other projects, it does not need to purchase a large number of templates and machine equipment. The project cost is relatively low.
2. Good permeability and drainage. Given the excellent drainage performance of iron wire, gabion mesh engineering can be used in the anti-washing water retaining building parts where the water level changes, and Wang Yu gabion mesh can avoid the setting of drainage holes. In riverbank engineering, the pressure on the retaining wall that changes with the water depth can be eliminated or reduced, which is conducive to the stability and safety of the building.
3. The flexibility of iron wire makes the gabion mesh engineering have good adaptability to deformation or bending. When ground subsidence or foundation deformation occurs occasionally and the foundation of the building has inherent foundation settlement, a kind of interwoven tension and extrusion is formed inside the gabion mesh, which can adapt to external deformation without breaking. In a field test of a project in Hebei: Wang Yu gabion mesh was added to the upper part of a gabion beam with a length of 800 meters and 50 kg of stone blocks. Under the action of external load, although the middle part of the beam was bent and deformed, the gabion beam never broke.
4. The use of gabion mesh has the advantages of fast construction. When the foundation excavation is completed, the gabion building can be built at one time. During construction, it can also avoid the construction of cofferdams on rivers and beaches, reducing the use of drainage feet. Construction in waterless areas can be completed by laying nets, filling stones and connecting reinforcement. When underwater construction is carried out in coastal areas of rivers, gabion mesh can be installed in advance, and then hoisted and placed in place, or shipped to the predetermined location by ship. This method can be adopted for stone throwing and diversion projects.
