Why does the perforated mesh bend and deform after production

Apr. 30, 2025

The original plate of the perforated mesh is very flat when it is purchased, but after the hole processing, it will curl, bend, and deform. Since we usually accept orders online, many customers will not come to the factory to supervise the production of orders out of trust in us. They just let us shoot production videos for customers occasionally. Since the perforated mesh has not been professionally leveled during the production process, it will produce more or less bending effects, and customers will doubt the quality of our products.

Below we will explain to you why the perforated mesh will bend and deform after punching, hoping to help more people understand the knowledge of perforated mesh products.

1. The deformation of the perforated mesh is related to the material of the plate: the deformation degree of plates of different materials is different after stamping. Among them, the deformation degree of stainless steel plates is larger and it is not easy to level. This is because the stainless steel plate has a relatively large rigidity and a certain degree of durability. It needs to be leveled multiple times in the later stage to achieve a better effect.

2. The deformation of the perforated mesh is related to the hole diameter and hole spacing: the smaller the hole diameter and hole spacing, the more severe the deformation of the perforated mesh product. When the punch needle and the plate undergo a stamping process, a high heat will be generated, which is equivalent to annealing the plate, so the local plate becomes hard and bends.

3. The larger the margin of the perforated mesh, the greater the deformation, especially the perforated mesh products with larger opening rate and larger hole diameter.

We have professional leveling tools that can level the perforated mesh products made by punching.
